The Boat: The Full House! After Touring the city of Athens we boarded the catamaran, met our Skipper Spiros and Hostess Maria. We got affiliated with the boat and headed out in the open waters. First stop is a secluded uninhabited island for snorkle and exploration- lots of goats and windmills. Then we docked in Poros. A charming island with great restaurants and great boat watching. We loved trying Greek cuisine like mousaka. It was a beautiful day for a sail- the skipper had all the sails out to catch the wind for a 10 knot speed. This exploration on the vessel was “max relax” - we all enjoyed some down time, family time and lots of rounds of the card game Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza.
After the stop of the island of Poros, we docked at Kythnos. We met with a local tour guide, George, who gave us a wonderful tour of his home island. We all loved the tour because we got to really learn about the history, the culture, the “flora fauna”, the cave, the commerce, just truly a great tour. Kythnos was a beautiful island- small and off the beaten path with amazing restaurants, fresh food, clear water (even in the marina) and friendly people.
