We've come a long way, babies!! These first 2 photos are from 2016 and these little ones have been troopers learning to ski. Victoria was 7 and O'Neill was 5 - wow! These guys have been skiing their whole lives and this year both Victoria and O'Neill did incredible. Victoria got most improved- she did the best she's ever done - and that's an accomplishment because she's never been crazy about skiing and being cold. And O'Neill is the self proclaimed "2nd best skier in the family... and I'm not bragging because it's just true." Oh bless these babies! We fell in love with Steamboat so much that we purchased a fractional ownership in a house up there. It quickly became one of our favorite places to ski because it was laid back, casual, great mountain, great base, and a direct flight from Dallas. Being so close to Wyoming it felt more cowboy town than ski resort. We can't wait to go back in the summer for all the mountain activities and to visit the hot springs - we just couldn't fit that in this trip... luckily there will be many more trips to come! This was our best ski trip yet and that's saying something! Can't wait until we go up again.
We spent some time on the slopes after Christmas and celebrated New Year's Eve. The three kids tried out snow boarding for the first time. They wanted to go back to skiing but I will continue to push them to try boarding each time they visit the mountains.
Fireworks, lit up snow cats and ski instructors coming down the mountain to celebrate NYE with lights. I love to covered wagon at the base of the mountain! :)
Never stopped snowing! It was COLD. These trees looked like a story book picture- I just couldn't stop taking pictures of trees!
But so fun to get into the hot tub while it snowed
Cowboy spotted!
Learning to snow board for the first time put these kids back on the bunny slope...
LOTS of fresh snow. We became "pow hunters". That's my pole in the powder.
JZ's cleaning his goggles again... it was so cold that the goggles froze
Space suit
Cowboy hat art
Pony and miniature horse petting zoo at the base of the mountain.
No visibility past 50 yards...
This town is a cowboy town. Horse shoe snowflake - HEART
We've come along way - they are carrying their own equipment
Everyone is a Gold Medalist
In the "tree house"
Rainbow spotted while on the gondola!
