Part 2: From the Masa Mara we traveled by bush plane to the Laikepia region to the Governors Mugie- a private reserve with just a few rooms and impeccable staff. We arrived when one party was leaving so we had the entire place to ourselves. We left the tent camps for darling rooms with thatched/reed roofs. Poaching is a major concern for this reserve- they are serious about security. They have working dogs who find the scent of poachers and track them so the horse mounted rangers can capture them. Poachers go after everything from the cattle to elephants.

Bush breakfast- the service at the camps is top notch. I still don’t know how they transported all the food and the dishes and everything else out to the middle of nowhere for breakfast after our morning drive. This crew found their love of tea- green and regular- Rebecca had a little sugar problem putting in almost 3 tablespoons of sugar per cup 😆🫖
Hot towels and hot water to wash our hands before breakfast. They loved to provide us with cool damp towels after we came back from the safari drives.
