The Broadmoor

While Victoria was away in her first week out of 3 weeks at Camp Champions, Rebecca, O'Neill and I joined JZ in Colorado Springs at the Broadmoor. JZ had to attend a CME meeting and we were so excited to tag along. Colorado Springs is one of my favorite places in CO and you just can't beat staying The Broadmoor.

Seven Falls! 

Just a couple of steps

The last time we visited Seven Falls, Rebecca was three and was very upset that we had to visit this site. Not much changed in a couple of years - when she had to climb the stairs she really didn't want to... her facial expressions were cracking me up!

This is Beckers from the first time she visited Seven Falls - 

Beckers was swimming in the pool while the boys were finishing up golf and she ran into a friend from Dallas. So much fun!

The most lovely desserts at the chocolate shop - Beckers and O'Neill loved watching them make them in the kitchen

O'Neill shot an 80 in the cool air with warm sunshine. He says her plays better on better courses. 

Beckers drove the golf cart and was the club girl for the boys. We followed them for 9 holes and saw the pretty landscape then hit the pool.

We attended the Mountain Zoo not far from the Broadmoor. It is the sweetest zoo on the side of the mountain. So much better than the hot Dallas zoo.

We took the Cog Railway up to the top of Pikes Peak! It had been closed for 3 years while they renovated the mountain visitor center and got brand new rail cars. The train cars cost $10 million each and they were made on Switzerland.

This is an actual gold mine that mines $1 million of gold each day

The temperature dropped 30 degrees and the wind was brutal - luckily we were prepared but many tourists bought sweatshirts at the top.

Dinners at the resort were excellent - 

Garden of the Gods. The last time we were here was summer of 2020 during the "pandemic" - we had the best time exploring. JZ was in Dallas on our cover escapades so we showed our dad the beautiful rocks.
