These little guys have been super busy. Here's a few pics from the last few weeks.
O'Neill and a few friends wrapped up their study of knights by visiting Medieval Times. They got to meet the Lion Knight and cheer for his team. It was a late night but the boys had a blast.
St John's Havana Nights School Auction
This little kid LOVES to create art morning, noon, and night!
We love living so close to the park and after two weeks of rain we were all ready to play.
This little four year old showed us how she can swing by herself! I still love to push her but she is learning to hang with the big kids.
Making a dandelion wish - for a unicorn
Victoria loves the movie "The Greatest Showman" and knows all the words to all the songs. She let me record her singing one of her favorite songs.
St Marks School Auction. JZ loves auctions and bought quite a few things from both schools.
Quite amazing, but we had a great time while we waited 3 hours at the DMV to get a new driver's license. We loved the uninterrupted time together with our bag of arts and crafts, books, puzzles, and we even had a box lunch there.
Friends since the toddler days! Claire Davis and V in front of their locker.
First day of swim lessons! Everyone was so excited to wear their new swimsuits of the season, but Rebecca cried the whole time :( She can only improve.
The first grade class did a production of the musical Squirm. The songs were all about insects and each boy had their own small speaking parts. O'Neill's part was a worm. The boys memorized their lines, songs, hand motions, and blocking. They all did such an amazing job! Congratulations!
There was a little reception afterwards were all the food was insect themed - so creative! The girls' favorite was the pudding cups, with graham cracker dirt and gummy worms.
Victoria has been working so hard with jump rope club - The Red Hot Peppers. They gave a jump rope routine show for the heart association. Victoria made the 100 club where she jumped 100 times without stopping or getting caught up. Congratulations V!!!!! Such hard work!
Victoria performed her jump rope routine after she even had special practice session with her friend Emmy Lou. So happy for this girl!
To conclude their unit on Magnets, the class was assigned partners to create a Magnet Arcade game. V did a great job and it was so fun to visit all the grades' arcade games to see how creative they all are.
The students each read a biography about a person of their choice and V chose Sacajawea. They had to dress like the character, present their life to the class, the PKers, and the parents. First they prepared a formal report then used notecards to help them present. They also used their iPads to create a video for their visual aid.
By the end of the year Victoria will have completed 4 book reports and she had not done any previously. She has also had multiple opportunities to speak in public and present her material to fellow students and parents. She has grown so much this year and there is still one trimester left!
O'Neill's teacher is great about sending photos to the families about what they are up in class. Here O'Neill was working on creating a Leprechaun trap.
O'Neill loves anything Legos.
Victoria at the Dallas Equestrian Center's Spring horse show with one of her favorite horses, Duke. She loves the animals and has really worked hard on her form. She set two goals and achieved both: getting a blue ribbon and either Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion. Way to go V! It was a tough competition - there were 7 riders in her group!
O'Neill and the Spring birthday boys had their party at the Bowl and Barrel. The Senior Buddies came to help and play with the boys and it was a crazy and fun event. Getting to know these families has been so much fun and seeing the boys bond so far has been amazing.
Ishaan! He's one of O'Neill's chess partners and is a sweetheart.
The girls had a blast
These kids keep us on our toes and we are so happy to make this journey with them. The Zavala kids are amazing and am so proud of each of them. I love getting to spend time with them - we have a great time.
