July 4th Tradition

July 4th just isn't the same unless you celebrate it with the Davises in Lakewood, Texas. These cousins had so much fun together - they really have missed each other. We loved the wacky weekend and spending time playing and eating ... lots of eating. Papa and Cecie hosted their like 50-something parade watching party and ran out of food and drinks! A sign of a great party. The bounce house and slide combo was a hit again!

The Lakewood Country Club switched firework vendors and had the BEST fireworks show just second to the fireworks on the Washington DC Mall. I mean... seriously.

Carmel! We were so excited to see Carmel; Baron was glad to have a little friend.

Carpool buddy Ben and O'Neill. I swear this kid wouldn't wear a shirt if he doesn't have to.

The 4th of July neighborhood posse going on 6 years strong.

The helium shortage really dampers my balloons to signify our location on the golf course... :)

SJE 5th grade friends!

The crazy cousins

The LCC management always requests that we keep the kids out of the bunkers but it is so hard - especially when they look so cute having so much fun!

Yummy Rice Krispy treats

Kate isn't too sure what to do with these silly kids. I'm not sure what exactly the had planned but Kate's face says it all...

I find videos and pictures on my phone all the time from my little photographers but this one of Victoria is a pic I just LOVE - so simple and beautiful

Kiko and Brooke came in over the holiday weekend. Great to see them and everyone played our new putting game  - the kids LOVE seeing their Aunt and Uncle.

The Zavala men.

Summertime Bucket List

June is over and we have checked off a few of our summer bucket list.

Making ice cream at Baldo's Creamery. Loved getting to the home their spoils.

Sur La Table cooking class Macarons. No wonder they are $4 a cookie - sheesh - these things are super labor intensive. Lots of steps for so little ingredients.

Road trip to Fossil Rim and Dinosaur State Park. V and O had been there before but only V remembered the trip. Rebecca thought it was the best thing ever. And an ostrich literally reached into the car and almost took the whole bag with him. It was such a funny sight and just tickled us to pieces. Then we visited the Dinosaur Park and the river was high so they just had to swim in the river!

This is the ostrich that was very aggressive!

Backyard fun

Science experiments are my favorite thing to do when bored - this one is Ivory soap floats versus other soaps.

Lots of Family swim. They are now swimming in their underwear or just naked!

Well - she has good form!
