Camp Champions Part 1

We have a "Midi" and a "Rookie". Victoria has been singing the praises of camp for two years and O'Neill is ready. He is a well prepared first time camper. It sure was hot when we dropped them off but they didn't seem to mind. There was lots of excitement.

Victoria got to travel deep into the boy side of camp when we arranged O'Neill's room and said good-bye. The boys' camp is a little "cooler" than the girls' side - they have lots of obstacle courses to get in and out of the cabins and ball games (like the fair) under the cabins - the cabins are one story up to help get the breeze off the lake.

Getting her stuff ready

Unloading his gear. Unlike the girls - boys take water guns and fishing poles and a tackle box.

They announce each camper and then they run through the tunnel of their counselors.

The life of a dad - carrying a trunk, duffle, water gun, tackle box and fishing pole... O'Neill carrying nothing but wiping the sweat off his face...

Victoria continued with her tie-dye theme and emoji accents. She got the top bunk again... I think she would rather have the bottom but they are assigned. Best of luck is that she gets the huge fan right by her bunk,

O'Neill has a camo theme - I sort of went overboard bc everything is camo.

I can't believe he is already old enough for camp - I sure hope he takes advantage of trying new things. O'Neill is on the top bunk right next to a fan. He is in the middle of two other St. Mark's friends. He is poised to have the best time.

And they are off. Rebecca prayed at dinner for O'Neill and Victoria an even Gigi and Gio that they will be safe and have fun. She is going to love being an only child for two weeks.

Horseshoe Bay

We stayed at Horseshoe Bay Resort a few nights for a mini family vacation before dropping V and O off at camp. We rented wave runners and enjoyed lake life...well everyone but JZ who is a self proclaimed beach person not lake person. We enjoyed meeting up with the Johnson family who was also taking their kids to camp. It was a. great way to kick off camp.

We found out that Victoria loves Scrabble - she brought the travel version to every meal.

HBR had quite a number of exotic birds on their property. They all had a story and were very talented

Texas lake beach... sort of like Watercolor.

They had about 8 African tortoises on their property that lived next to the flamingos. The kids fed them their breakfast of broccoli and carrots.

We rented a golf cart to shuttle us to and fro the yacht club, marina, clubhouse and our condo. Thank goodness!

The yacht club pool is great with the views of the lake and the beach.

Gio and Gigi met up with us - I think camp is going to be so much fun!

They had the nicest putt putt golf course. O'Neil and JZ played twice even in the heat!
